Surfers Paradise Marriott is a unique resort nestled in a picturesque location between the Gold Coast’s beautiful white sandy beaches and meandering canals, offering an unparalleled pool area, not to mention 5-star service and unrivaled facilities.
Gold Coast Hotel with Fish in Pool
Snorkeling on the Gold Coast has never been so convenient. This is a Gold Coast lagoon pool pool like no other! Picture a sprawling sandy lagoon teeming with exotic fish, with an endlessy flowing in the distance. Hardly sounds like a typical resort pool, does it? For anyone who is curious about what lies beneath, you can jump in with a snorkel and swim with the fish anytime, or observe their 9.30am daily feeding from dry land.
JW Marriott Gold Coast Pool
The Marriot Surfers Paradise pool area also offers a separate fresh water pool (no fish in this one) complete with a whirlpool, and caves connecting the pool to the spa and waterslide…and that’s just the start. Surrounding the pool are cabanas, lined with a special silica sand that offers an authentic beachy feel, but is engineered to stay on the ground rather than sticking to you. It’s truly unique, and totally deserving of the title of the best pool on the Gold Coast.
Surfer Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa
The resort offers a variety of dining options, including award-winning restaurants (more on those soon), a full-service hair salon and day spa with private massage rooms, lounges and bars, a 24-hour gym with personal trainers, and a kids club. Honestly, does a holiday get any better than this?
It’s not every day you find a hotel where every single suites offers a view, but that’s another thing that makes the Marriott Surfers Paradise so special. From your apartment marvel at the lush green hinterland or the picturesque coastline. And with the zoning restrictions surrounding the Marriott, these marvellous 360 degree views are guaranteed to be enjoyed for many years to come.
When we think of what makes the Marriott brand special, we think of 5-star luxury. This resort really lives up to the expectation, and takes customer service very seriously…but that also doesn’t mean it’s uptight. It’s still very much a family-friendly environment, and the staff are ready to attend to your entire family’s needs.
Before you head out to explore the GC, be sure to stop by the Activities Desk in the lobby. They have information on everything from stand-up paddleboarding to theme park tickets and transfers, as well as Kids Club schedules. The Marriott boasts a prime location, just 200 meters from the beach and the closest tram station, making it easy for guests to access the wider Gold Coast.
Adjacent to the fresh water pool, over the bridge, is an exit that takes you to one of the resort’s waterways. Here, you can rent a boat and fishing rods and go fishing, without even needing a boat license. You can also rent electric water scooters at the Pool Bar to zoom around the spacious pool area.
Misono (formerly Benihana) Japanese Restauarant
Let’s preface this by saying you’ll never go hungry at the Marriott. The resort features a total of five dining and drinking establishments, including the Pool Bar, Citrique Seafood Buffet, Misono Japanese Steakhouse, Misono Sake Bar, and Chapter & Verse Bar and Lounge. The Pool Bar and Chapter & Verse serve light bites and are great for grabbing a quick bite or coffee before venturing out and about.
Chapter & Verse Lounge and Bar boasts a half indoor, half outdoor dining area, where guests can dine amidst tropical gardens, water features, and the cool sea breeze. It was awarded the “Small Bar” winner in the Restaurants and Catering Awards 2019. For a truly unique dining experience, try one of the dishes from their hot rocks menu. And if you’re looking for a more casual meal, the friendly staff at Chapter & Verse are happy to provide simpler options such as steak, fish, nuggets & chips.
For those who love fine dining, the award-winning Citrique and Misono offer a top-shelf dining experience. Misono, formerly known as Benihana and an institution on the Gold Coast, has received a Certificate of Excellence from 2015 to 2019, widely regarded as the best teppanyaki restaurant and sake bar in town. The charming chefs are also known for keeping children entertained, all the while pumping out a delectable array of teppanyaki delights.
While the Marriott offers plenty of dining options, for those who wish to venture further, the nearby metropolis of Surfers Paradise is also home to a plenty more dining options.
Final Word
The Marriott Surfers Paradise offers a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t experience at any other resort on the Gold Coast. It’s a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, convenience, adventure, elegance, and tropical fun for the whole family.
